Recuperating in Shangrila

I've been away a while re-charging my batteries -- both spiritual and physical -- and thought I'd share with you a little of the Shangrila where solace is often found in a sunset . . .

Traveling through the parts of Time
Which by days and weeks and months and years
Mark the moments of our lives by sublime
Mystery, we find it touched by joy and tears
All designed so we may See.

And yet the busyness of life detracts,
Refracts, and twists our sight
So much that all we see is black
With what we thought we sought with our own might.

So, Christ upon my weary heart
Pours the balm of quiet rest
Such that my days of toil and work may start
To heal and at long last
Recover perfect sight of Thee.
